2019 Commitment Series

Our Commitment Series for this year is called Burning Hearts which focuses upon our desire for God to renew and revive us here at St Matthews. To that end we are exploring the theme of 'revival' in the Bible, alongside significant periods of revival in recent history.

This year there are a number of new events, along with some old favourites. Scroll down for more details about Burning Hearts.

Tim Keller says...

"Revival or renewal is a work of God that beautifies and empowers the church as the normal operations of the Holy Spirit (conviction of sin, enjoyment of grace, access to the presence of God) are intensified. It is an outpouring of the Spirit on and within the congregation, so that God’s presence among his people becomes evident and palpable."

Burning to GIVE

Sunday 17 November is Commitment Day. It's the day on which we encourage people to sign Commitment Cards to indicate their financial support for our Mission Partners, as well for St Matthews' ministry in the year ahead.

This year we're hoping to raise a total of $125,000 for our Mission Partners. You can find out more about them here.

We'd love you to fill out a Commitment Card in church on Sunday 17 November, but if you'd prefer to organise your giving electronically, then you can do that here. Just make sure you include "CD Mission" in the description field.

You can make Commitment Series offerings all the way up to Christmas.

Burning to PRAY

A new addition to our Commitment Series events are three mid-week evening prayer sessions. Join us as we call upon the Lord for renewal and revival.

Each night will feature worship led by Dave Nduwimana, biblical reflection, prayer together and opportunities to be prayed for by prayer partners.

8:00pm - 9:15pm at the church (parking available at Manly Village School)

Wed 23 Oct - Healing

Wed 30 Oct - Wayward Souls

Wed 6 Nov - Personal renewal

Burning to GROW

Over six weeks the Burning Hearts Growth Group booklet will set hearts on fire as we dive into God's word together to explore his power to renew and revive.

If you're not part of a growth group, there's a page each week called Growth Core, which has 3 questions and 3 prayer points for you to share with (perhaps) 3 friends, at a time that works for you.

Burning to SERVE

As part of the Commitment Series, we are once again joining together to spruce up Manly Village Public School on Saturday 26 October

Work will start at 9am and finish at 1.00pm with a BBQ lunch (there's an early set-up shift from 7-9am too).

Come along on Wednesday evening, November 13, from 6.30 to 10pm to celebrate all that God has been doing among us at St Matthews in 2019.
